‘The Odyssey’ Trailer Drops: Matt Damon Battles Gods, Monsters, and the Sea in Christopher Nolan’s Epic

Universal Pictures has unleashed the first official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey. Starring Matt Damon as the cunning king Odysseus, the footage promises a breathtaking, large-scale mythological spectacle unlike anything seen before.

The nearly two-minute trailer opens with Odysseus declaring in a gravelly voiceover: “After years of war, no one could stand between my men and home.” We see glimpses of the Trojan Horse, massive sea storms, a shadowy Cyclops, and Odysseus clinging to wreckage amid raging waves. Brief shots introduce Anne Hathaway as the faithful Penelope and Tom Holland as their son Telemachus, anxiously awaiting his return.

Shot entirely on groundbreaking IMAX film cameras across stunning global locations, Nolan’s vision brings the timeless tale of wit, peril, and homecoming to life with unparalleled scale and intensity. The star-studded ensemble also includes Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and many more.
