The world’s most expensive car show just restarted. On 4 September 2026, Prime Video dropped six new episodes of The Grand Tour at once, in more than 240 countries. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May signed off in 2024 with the Zimbabwe special One for the Road. The keys now sit with a different trio: Throttle House co-creators James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, plus trainspotter-turned-petrolhead Francis Bourgeois.
Amazon is selling it as the same show with new knobs. That is not marketing fluff. Executive producer Andy Wilman is still in the tent. The brief is still absurd. The cars are still the wrong tool for the job.

Engelsman and Holland built Throttle House on YouTube with car tests and banter that already lived in the same neighbourhood as classic Top Gear. Bourgeois became famous for POV train videos, then proved he could talk cars without pretending to be someone else. Prime Video’s own listing names them as the presenters of this new run.
The original three are not ghosts. Episode one, The Next Generation, opens with an on-camera blessing from Clarkson. Later episodes bring in James May for a pub chat that sends the team to Colorado in Japanese kei cars, and Richard Hammond for a “strongest car” destruction test. F1 champion Jenson Button also appears in the official trailer.

Prime Video published episode titles and synopses. All six went live together.
The Next Generation sends the new hosts across southern California with a Ford Mustang GTD, a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and a Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Evolution, then races the lot against fighter jets.
Sweat, Sports Cars and Singapore starts in Singapore and climbs into the Malaysian highlands on a budget brief: can you buy a sports car for under £5,000 that is exciting and will not die on the road.
It's OK to be Kei takes tiny Japanese kei cars off-road in Colorado and up Pikes Peak after that chat with May.
Amazon’s July announcement also confirmed an Angola desert crossing in track cars, a look at Malaysian car culture, California performance tests, fighter-pilot challenges, and a stunt that “challenges an entire nation’s legal system.” Those beats match what the hosts said in official quotes. Bourgeois talked about a tent shared with jackals outside in Angola. Engelsman said they learned how to accept defeat. Holland said nobody held their hand.

In the UK the drop was 8am BST on Friday 4 September 2026. In the US it landed at midnight Pacific. Prime members stream it at no extra cost. Some listings label this new host era as Season 1. Older press still calls it series 7. The important part is simpler: six episodes, one night, one app.
If you grew up on Clarkson’s outrage and May’s fussiness, this will feel different. That is the point. The production still has Wilman’s fingerprints and the old stars keep walking through the frame. The new hosts have said they are not acting. They are the same people you already saw on YouTube and TikTok, now with Amazon’s budget and a desert that does not care.
