Landman Won’t Return This November — Here’s Why Fans Are Waiting Longer

Taylor Sheridan’s high-stakes oil drama Landman delivered two explosive seasons packed with boardroom battles, family fractures, and West Texas grit. Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris became appointment viewing on Paramount+. Season 2 wrapped on January 18, 2026, leaving fans hungry for more. Yet the familiar November premiere window that defined the first two seasons is off the table for Season 3.

Production Delays Push the Timeline

Filming for Season 3 was originally eyed for May 2026. Billy Bob Thornton later confirmed on Howie Mandel’s podcast that cameras would roll at the end of August. The latest update from series regular James Jordan, speaking in late July 2026 at the Lioness premiere, moves the start to sometime in September. Production is expected to run through the first quarter of 2027.

That schedule makes a November 2026 return virtually impossible. Post-production alone requires several months. The most realistic window now points to sometime in 2027. Paramount+ renewed the series in December 2025 after Season 2 shattered viewership records, so the show is coming back. It simply will not arrive this fall.

What Fans Can Expect When It Returns

Jordan has already teased that Taylor Sheridan is writing “10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes.” Director Stephen Kay is expected to return. The entire core cast, including Thornton, Demi Moore, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, and the younger Norris family members, is set to resume. The Season 2 finale left major threads open around the newly formed CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle company, family loyalties, and lingering external threats.

Until then, both existing seasons remain streaming on Paramount+. Reliving Tommy’s dry one-liners and the cutthroat Permian Basin world is the best way to stay sharp.
