The Gang Is Back

Netflix shared the news with a group photo of the cast gathered around a dinner table. The caption simply read, “The gang’s all back for GROWN UPS 3! Now in production.” Adam Sandler posted the same images with a short message: “We missed you!”

Returning stars include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek Pinault, Maya Rudolph, and Maria Bello. Supporting players such as Shaquille O’Neal, Jackie Sandler, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne, and Nick Swardson are also back. New faces joining the franchise include Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, and Bailee Madison.

Filming began around August 3, 2026, and is scheduled to continue through mid-October. Locations include New Jersey and Boston in the United States, plus Italy and France.

What We Know So Far

Kyle Newacheck is directing. He previously worked with Sandler on Murder Mystery and the record-setting Happy Gilmore 2. The script comes from Sandler and his longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy. Producers include Adam Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo, and Tim Herlihy.

According to Netflix, the story picks up with the friends now that their kids have grown up and moved out. Free at last, the group heads out on “the ultimate adventure.” Earlier production reports described the trip as a European journey to scatter the ashes of a close friend while proving they can still have fun in their sixties.

No release date has been announced yet. Given the filming schedule, a 2027 Netflix debut looks likely.
