Grand Theft Auto VI Has a New Trailer

Rockstar Games just put the most anticipated game of the decade on a streaming platform first. On August 27, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on Netflix, then arrived on YouTube the same night. The presentation runs about 27 minutes, was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, and is the studio’s deepest official look yet at Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, and the state of Leonida.

If you have been waiting since Trailer 1 in 2023 and Trailer 2 in 2025, this is the one that finally shows the job board, the getaway, and the afterparty in the same breath. Watch the official video here: Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look

A Bonnie and Clyde story with a Florida-sized playground

The official pitch has not changed. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. After an easy score goes wrong, they land on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, inside a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida. Players can switch between both leads. Rockstar has said the romance is optional, and that players can treat the pair as partners in crime rather than lovers.

The Extended Look is not a feature breakdown with a voiceover. It is a long montage of story missions and open-world moments: a drug pickup for music mogul Boobie Ike that turns into a raid, security work that collapses into a skyscraper shootout, jewelry jobs, dirt-bike runs, stock-car racing, kayaking, skydiving, nightclub scenes, and the kind of satirical extras the series is known for. Multiple outlets that watched the Netflix drop reported the same structure. Rockstar did not publish a full systems list in the video itself.

Why Netflix, and why now

Netflix got a six-hour exclusive window. Rockstar then posted the same footage to its YouTube channel at 9 p.m. ET. Netflix called the deal a first-of-its-kind partnership and framed Grand Theft Auto reveals as cultural events. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick later described the Netflix drop as one course in a longer campaign, not the whole meal. Pre-orders are live. The standard edition is $79.99. The Ultimate Edition is $100. Launch remains November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC date has not been confirmed by Rockstar.

The timing also followed a wave of unofficial leaks. The official presentation does not cancel those leaks. It does give the public a sanctioned, in-engine document of what Rockstar wants people to see before November.

What this actually tells us

What is confirmed is scale of presentation, dual protagonists, Leonida as a Florida analogue with Vice City at the center, and a November 19 console launch. What is not confirmed in the Extended Look is exact map size, full mission count, or every system fans have speculated about. Those details still belong to the game itself.

That gap is the point. Rockstar is selling ambition the old way: show the world moving, then make you wait to live in it.

Drop your take in the comments. Which moment from the Extended Look sold you, and which one still feels like a tease? Like this if you are locking November 19 on the calendar, and subscribe so you do not miss the next drop.
