DC Studios just dropped the first teaser trailer for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (a glorious 15 seconds) and released a batch of breathtaking stills that give us our clearest look yet at Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. Verdict? She looks ready to bench-press a planet while nursing a cosmic hangover.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella, I, Tonya) and written by Ana Nogueira, this is the gritty space-western take on Supergirl we were promised, pulled straight from Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s brilliant 2022 comic run. Picture Logan mixed with True Grit, but in zero gravity and with heat vision.

James Gunn keeps calling Milly Alcock the best casting decision he has ever made. After these images, nobody is arguing.

The Official First-Look Stills

Why This Version Feels Different (In the Best Way)

This is not the bright, bubbly Supergirl of past decades. This Kara watched Krypton die up close, spent years drifting through the darkest corners of the universe, and is now escorting a grieving girl on a revenge quest across the stars. She drinks, swears, bleeds, and occasionally punches planets in half. Somehow, she is still the most hopeful person in every room.

Milly Alcock brings the perfect mix of steel and vulnerability. House of the Dragon fans already knew she could carry a franchise, but this feels like her supernova moment.

Mark your calendars: June 26, 2026. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow hits theaters. Until then, we will be staring at these photos on repeat.
